Jamaican comedian, choreographer, MC, actor, and selector Trippple X experienced a shocking incident while working at an event in the UK over the weekend. He was struck on the head with a bottle, leading to a hospital visit. Despite the ordeal, Trippple X reassured his followers that he is okay, sharing updates on social media. A photo circulated online showing him holding his head shortly after the incident.
Trippple X recounted the events leading up to the attack, explaining that he was playing a mix of songs, including Vybz Kartel’s “Comet,” when someone in the club approached him, requesting he stop playing Kartel’s music. However, another patron requested a “money pull-up,” prompting the song to be replayed multiple times.
Later, Trippple X played another Vybz Kartel track, which included the line “Bombo hole guh badup yo madda.” As he continued his set and announced upcoming events, he suddenly felt something hit his head. Initially thinking it was debris from the ceiling, he soon realized he was bleeding. Witnesses informed him that the same person who had earlier objected to the music had hit him with a bottle and fled.
Trippple X quickly applied pressure to his wound with a towel. Nurses present at the event called for an ambulance, but he opted to go to the hospital independently, where he received stitches and was treated before being released.
After leaving the hospital, Trippple X reported the incident to the authorities, stating that legal action would be pursued. Reflecting on the situation during an Instagram live stream, he admitted, “I blame myself for being careless,” but noted that the attack could have been much worse.
He also clarified, “This is not a Jamaican that did this… that is as much as I’m going to say.” The incident highlights the challenges faced by entertainers and the importance of safety at events.
